Hyundai updates Sonata range
South Korean brand has updated its mid-sizer and added more gear.
Hyundai has refreshed its Sonata mid-size sedan by adding more gear across the range.
The entry-level Sonata Active gains paddle shifters and 17-inch alloy wheels with premium Continental tyres.
Stepping up to the mid-tier Sonata Elite gains additional rain sensing wipers, heated front seats, front park assist, an electronic parking brake with the option to add a sunroof.
The Sonata range tops out with the Premium variant which adds additional 18-inch alloy wheels with Michelin premium tyres, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert and smart cruise control as standard.
Prices have increased by $600 for the Active to $30,590 before on road costs, while the Elite has increased by $1360 to $38,350 and the Premium now costs $45,490 a rise of $3500.
These upgrades will be available on all MY17 Sonata.
Engines remain the same with the 128kW/241Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder powering the Active variant and the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 180kW and 350Nm that powers the Elite and Premium variants. All models are mated to a six-speed automatic with power delivered to the front wheels.
