Ford Mustang:: ‘brand new’ 1964 Pony cars team V8 power with IRS
Everything old is new again.
This year will see a return of the 52-year-old Mustang nameplate to Ford showrooms around Australia. And while the 2015 Ford Mustang has plenty of interest from prospective buyers, what about people who want a new car, but desperately love the classic look?
Revology Cars in the US has the answer.
The Florida company offers 'brand new' 1964 Ford Mustang coupes and convertibles, using Ford licensed body shells and other components, and pairs them with modern running gear and safety conveniences.
The 5.0-litre V8 is there, now with EFI and modern emissions equipment, as well as LED headlights, safer seat belts and side intrusion protection and of course the all-important USB charge points and updated stereo.
There is even independent rear suspension - try finding that on any 'pony car' prior to... well, 2015.
Arguably a pretty perfect mix of style and reliability, being cool isn't cheap. Your turn-key ticket to awesometown starts at about US$120k ($160,000).
Back to reality, the new new 2015 Ford Mustang is due later this year, starting at $44,990 and $53,990 for the fastback and convertible respectively.
