Ferrari recalls 840 cars in Australia with brake fault

The fault could cause the brakes to deteriorate, according to the manufacturer.

Ferrari has recalled 840 cars in Australia across seven model names, citing a potential fault with the braking system.

The 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, 488 GTB, 488 Spider, and J50 are affected, stamped Model Years 2010-2019.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The brake fluid reservoir cap may provide insufficient ventilation to the brake fluid reservoir.

"This could cause a reduction in the vehicle’s braking ability.

"Reduction of braking performance may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users."
