Citroen's new DS-badged concept has been uncovered this week, revealing a stretched five-door that mixes coupe styling with a sportswagon profile.
Although lower and longer - and a good deal tougher - the new concept clearly draws some inspiration from the likes of the original Citroen DS, and even the CX of the 70s and 80s.
Captured by French magazine L'Automobile during a photoshoot in Paris' Place de la Concorde, the revealing photos follow a pair of teaser images released earlier this week.
The magazine reports that the concept will be known as the DS9, with an online unveiling set to occur in the days before its global unveiling at next month's Beijing Auto Show.
Whether the concept will enter production is unclear. It is certainly likely that any market version will be comprehensively massaged in the same way that the sleek C-Sportlounge concept found its way into production as the DS5 people-moving wagon.
If it enters production, the new car will join a growing family of DS-badged models, including the DS3, the DS4 and the DS5.
