BMW 2002 Hommage revealed
German brand pays tribute to racing heritage with new concept.
BMW is celebrating its groundbreaking 2002's 50th anniversary by showing of its latest BMW 2002 Hommage concept, nicknamed Turbomeister, at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Building on from the popularity of the new BMW M2 and following on from its original concept 2002 Hommage shown at the Concorso d"Eleganza Villa d'Este earlier in 2016, BMW has wrapped its 2002 Hommage in the orange and black Jagermeister racing livery of its 2002 turbo racers of the 1970s and 1980s.
The concept's flared wheel arches and big 20-inch alloy wheels coupled with the short overhangs and 'shark nose' as well as the brand's iconic kidney-grille the concept's styling bridges the gap between the brand's past and future styling while also showcasing its racing pedigree. While special touches including the headlights gold coloured reflectors pay tribute to the 'golden' 50th anniversary.
BMW trod the same path last year with its 3.0 CSL Hommage concept which was shown in both road and track livery at the Villa d'Este and Pebble Beach concourses to celebrate the German marque's 40th anniversary in the US.
