Likes
Well proportioned looks. Stylish and comfortable interior. Punchy performance from the engine - peak torque kicks in at 1750rpm. Good fuel economy too. Ride is comfortable most of the time. Boot is larger than the A3 Sportback (425-litres v 380-litres).
Dislikes
Lacks the visual wow factor of the rival Mercedes-Benz CLA. Rear seat space is tight for adults. Adding a reversing camera and navigation comes as part of a $2990 option package, can’t be added separately. No USB or AUX port for smartphones; instead there is a unique Audi cable that costs extra.
Would I buy one?
I’d consider it if I was after something smaller and prestige but didn’t want a hatch. The A3 sedan is a stylish package with a typical Audi driving experience.
