Aston Martin reveals stunning Zagato concept

V12-powered styling exercise brings a retro touch to modern supercar.

How do you improve the looks of one of the most beautiful cars on the road?

Aston Martin's answer is to turn to Zagato, the Italian styling house with strong links to James Bond's preferred supplier of British sports cars.

The companies unveiled their fifth collaboration at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Lake Como, Italy on the weekend.

The Vanquish Zagato offers a modern spin on the style centre's traditional "double bubble" roof and round taillights, while borrowing elements from the latest DB11 supercar and Aston Martin One-11 hypercar.

"We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and the creation of the Vanquish Zagato Concept was a true shared experience," Zagato chief executive Andrea Zagato says.

"It represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over fifty years."

Aston Martin first linked with Zagato to create the iconic DB4 Zagato in 1960. The new model borrows its underpinnings from Aston Martin's Vanquish, which is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine with 424kW 630Nm.
