2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross price and specs: Petrol range up to $1000 dearer

Prices across the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross range have risen by up to $1000, to account for new features on some models – alongside a new LS Black Edition.

  • New LS Black Edition added
  • More features for ES, Aspire and Exceed
  • Priced from $31,490 plus on-road costs

The 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has gained a range of mild updates – and price rises of up to $1000 – for the new model year, with first showroom arrivals due next month.

New for the Eclipse Cross compact SUV in 2023 is a LS Black Edition model – which adds black styling elements and more luxury features compared to the standard LS – in line with recent special editions for other Mitsubishi models.

There are new features on other model grades, but price rises of between $250 and $1000 have been applied to all but one variant. Similar specification and price changes have been applied to the plug-in hybrid version, detailed yesterday.

The entry-level ES variant is the only variant to escape the price rises, and gains rear parking sensors – but swaps 18-inch wheels for smaller 16-inch units, and receives "revised steering wheel trim".

The new LS Black Edition costs $1250 more than the LS front-wheel-drive model on which it is based, and adds black exterior and interior trim, black 18-inch wheels, synthetic suede and leather-look seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and grey contrast stitching.

The second-from-flagship Eclipse Cross Aspire gains black and silver exterior highlights for 2023, while the top-of-the-range Exceed scores a hands-free power tailgate for the new model year, and the option of light grey leather upholstery.

There remains a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, depending on model, with one engine for the standard petrol range – a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 110kW and 250Nm, combined with a continuously-variable automatic transmission.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross range is due in showrooms next month.
