  • 2022 Volvo V60 Cross Country pricing and specification
  • Mid-size wagon goes Cross Country-only for 2022
  • Mild-hybrid petrol engine now the only option, developing 183kW
  • Priced from $64,990 before on-road costs

Australian pricing and specifications for the 2022 Volvo V60 Cross Country has been announced, ahead of first deliveries expected imminently.

As reported by CarAdvice, the regular Volvo V60 wagon has seen the axe for Model Year 2022, replaced instead by a high-riding V60 Cross Country – now powered solely by a mild-hybrid petrol engine, as part of Volvo Australia's switch to an all-electrified model range.

Just one variant will be offered in Australia, priced from $64,990 before on-road costs – slotting between the outgoing $62,990 before on-road costs V60 T5 Inscription, and the $66,990 before on-road costs V60 T5 R-Design.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine paired to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, sending 183kW and 350Nm to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Volvo quotes a combined fuel economy claim of 7.4L/100km – 0.1L/100km more than the outgoing V60 T5 – and a 6.5-second 0-100km/h sprint time.

Versus the regular V60, the Cross Country rides 75mm higher (for a total of 203mm of ground clearance), and gains unique exterior styling elements, grey wheel-arch extensions, hill-descent control, and off-road drive modes.

Standard equipment on Australian-delivered examples includes a 9.0-inch touchscreen with smartphone mirroring and satellite navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, electric heated front seats, a 360-degree camera, power tailgate, 19-inch wheels, four-zone climate control, and a full suite of semi-autonomous driver assistance technologies.

An optional Lifestyle pack brings a panoramic roof, tinted windows and one of two upgraded sound systems, with a range of leather trim, exterior colour and wheel options also available.

The 2022 Volvo V60 Cross Country is slated to arrive in Australian showrooms imminently.
