2022 Lamborghini new cars

With long-established nameplates, it’s been a period of subtle enhancements for the iconic Italian manufacturer. With the end of the now-legendary Aventador on the horizon, the future is now for Lamborghini.

News flash! Lamborghini is going to release a super sports car in 2022! Not exactly news, we know, but the revival of the iconic Countach name late in 2021 was reason enough for fans of the Raging Bull to get excited.

The revived Countach looks amazing, too, even if the designer of the original, Marcello Gandini, reportedly didn’t love the idea. At the car's reveal, Lamborghini announced the retro-styled Countach 'version two' would go into limited production. Just 112 will be built, referencing the internal build code of the original: LP112.

While most of the engine details are now widely known – namely a 6.5-litre V12 and a 48-volt 'supercapacitor' hybrid system – we recently reported that one lucky Australian has secured delivery of the exclusive run.

Costing a reported $AU3.2 million before on-road costs, it’s not an easy club to get into from a dollars and sense perspective either. Then again, 599kW, 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0-200km/h in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 355km/h might, in fact, be worth every cent.
