2022 Lamborghini Countach supercar leaks online
The retro V12 supercar has been revealed.
Images of the 2022 Lamborghini Countach have leaked online via Spanish outlet Cochespias, ahead of tomorrow’s official reveal.
It appears the new Italian supercar is underpinned by the same platform as Lamborghini’s current range-topping V12 Aventador, however new sheet metal and retro styling cues pay tribute to the classic model.
New wheels reference the original 1971 Countach’s ‘telephone dial’ alloys, while upright square LEDs recreate the profile of the iconic pop-up headlights.
Two large air scoops have also been added behind the doors, while narrow tapering taillights now reside at the rear.
As previously reported by Drive, ‘LPI800-4’ badging indicates the vehicle will produce 800 metric horsepower (589kW) from its 6.5-litre V12 engine, and all four wheels will be driven via a seven-speed automated manual transmission.
The 2022 Lamborghini Countach is slated for full reveal on Saturday 13 August, at 3:30am AEST. Stay tuned to Drive for all the latest updates.
