2022 Aston Martin DBX price and specs: DBX707 added from $428,400

Aston Martin’s most powerful SUV will reach Australia as early as April, with a $82,000 premium over the standard model in return for engine, chassis, and design overhauls.

The 2022 Aston Martin DBX707 will arrive in Australian showrooms within the coming months, priced from $428,400 before on-road costs.

Commanding a premium of more than $50,000 over the ‘standard’ DBX, the new DBX707 variant is Aston Martin’s rival for flagship performance SUVs from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT to the Lamborghini Urus – and adds an array of engine, chassis and exterior updates to match its price premium.

Production for Australia is due to commence by the end of March, with the first local deliveries scheduled to begin in “early Q2 [second quarter] 2022” – correlating to first arrivals sometime in April or May 2022.

Powering the Aston Martin DBX707 is an uprated version of the DBX’s familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG, now developing 520kW (707 metric horsepower, thus its name) and 900Nm – up over the standard model’s 404kW/700Nm, and exceeding the 470kW/900Nm of the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S sedan with the same engine.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed ‘wet’ multi-clutch automatic transmission, retuned all-wheel-drive system and new limited-slip rear differential, good for a 3.3-second dash from zero to 100km/h, and a 311km/h top speed.

As detailed here in Drive’s global reveal story, chassis upgrades include 22- or 23-inch alloy wheels, 420mm front and 390mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes, updated air suspension, retuned steering and electronic anti-roll bars, and a new Race Start launch control function.

Styling upgrades include a restyled front end with larger grille and intakes for increased cooling, new black side skirts, larger rear spoiler, and new rear diffuser with quad exhaust outlets and wheel arch vents.

Inside, 16-way electric sports seats and a revised centre console are standard, while buyers can pick from three interior material schemes: Accelerate (leather and Alcantara), Inspire Comfort and Inspire Sport, with the Inspire-badged options offering semi-aniline leather with Aston Martin wing embroidery and accented sections.

The 2022 Aston Martin DBX707 performance SUV is now available to order, ahead of first deliveries due in April or May.
