2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid recalled
49 plug-in SUVs could have leaking fuel systems which could lead to engine stalling.
Porsche Cars Australia has issued a recall for the new-generation '9YA' Cayenne E-Hybrid, over concerns of a fault in the fuel system.
According to the German marque, liquid fuel can leak into the fuel tank system during refuelling if the nozzle is turned or not inserted correctly into the filler tube.
If the condition occurs, the liquid fuel can be sucked into the engine's intake duct "during carbon canister regeneration", which could see ignitable fuel and air mix in the intake duct causing misfiring or deflagration.
Porsche says, in the worst case scenario, the vehicle could stall increasing the risk of an accident.
There are 49 vehicles affected by this recall, built between May and October 2018 – a VIN list accessible here.
Owners of the recalled Cayenne E-Hybrids will be notified by Porsche Australia via mail, and are advised to contact their local dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
