A total of 15 vehicles feature wheel hub covers which could detach from the hub while driving, impacting other road vehicles, according to Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 15 examples of the 2019-20 Mercedes-AMG GT53.
According to the recall notice lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), "the wheel hub covers may not have been manufactured correctly and may detach from the wheel hub.
"If the wheel hub [cover] detaches while driving, it may impact other vehicles or road users or result in an increased risk of accident or injury."
All 15 affected GT53 models were sold between 4 March 2019 and 25 June 2020, and are stamped Model Year 2019 or 2020. Mercedes-AMG GT63 S V8 models are reportedly unaffected.
