2019-20 Kia Seltos recalled in Australia due to engine fault

Faulty internal parts could cause an engine failure in some Kia Seltos models, according to the recall.

Kia Australia has recalled 4647 examples of its 2019-2020 Kia Seltos citing a potential fault with the 2.0-litre engine in S, Sport and Sport+ models.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The piston rings fitted to certain vehicles may not meet manufacturing specifications and could cause engine failure and vehicle stalling. This will result in an unexpected loss of vehicle power."

The notice warns a sudden loss of power while driving can cause an accident.
