2018-2023 Nissan Leaf recalled in Australia

Nissan Australia has issued a recall for 1766 examples of its 2018-2023 Nissan Leaf, citing a potential fault with the car's cruise control system which could cause unintentional acceleration when the system is deactivated.

The list of affected vehicles, which include both Nissan Leaf and Leaf e+ variants sold in Australia, features model years between 2018 and 2023.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Due to a software issue, the cruise control function may not operate as intended and could cause unintentional acceleration when deactivated."

"An unintentional acceleration when using the cruise control function may increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users."

Nissan Australia advises owners should contact their local Nissan dealership to schedule an appointment to have their cruise control software updated, free of charge.
