2017 Infiniti Q60 price and specifications

Second-generation coupe arrives with good looks, plenty of gear and sharp pricing

Infiniti has introduced its second-generation Q60 coupe in Australia, leading with just a single model with an expanded range set to arrive in March 2017.

For starters the Q60 GT will act as the flag-bearer for Infiniti's two-door range, powered by a 155kW/350Nm 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developed by Mercedes-Benz.

Next year a high-spec Sport Premium model powered by the same engine, and flagship Red Sport powered by a 298kW/475Nm 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 engine will also be added to the range.

Unlike the Q50 range, the Q60 engine line-up won't extend to diesel or hybrid, though Infiniti hasn't ruled out the possibility of adding additional powertrains to the range if consumer demand exists. Both the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre engines will be mated to a seven-speed automatic with rear wheel drive.

Showcasing Infiniti's "powerful elegance" design language, the Q60's flowing lines are modelled after the musculature of an athlete, sharing styling themes with the Q50 sedan and Q30 and QX30 SUV range.

Though the GT is the entry-point to the Q60 range, standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, leather seat trim, front seats with electric adjustment, power-adjustable steering column, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control with speed limiter, LED headlights and dual-screen infotainment with satellite navigation.

An optional Enhancement Pack for the GT adds adaptive front lighting with high beam assist, sunroof, 360-degree camera, and debut's a new Bose Performance Series Audio upgrade with 13 speakers, advanced sound staging technology, high-definition radio, and active noise cancellation.

Infiniti's Drive Mode Selector toggle allows quick access to the available Standard, Snow, Sport, and Personal settings for steering, chassis, and drivetrain, with customisation accessed via the touchscreen menu.

Standard safety features include six airbags, predictive forward collision warning, forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and a pop-up bonnet for pedestrian protection.

Features and specifications for the 2.0t Sport Premium and 3.0t Red Sport will be announced closer to their March 2017 launch date, although Infiniti has confirmed the the Red Sport will be fitted with Dynamic Digital Suspension, and Direct Adaptive Steering, as seen on the Q50 range.
