2016-2021 Ford Ranger and Everest recalled with awning fault
The fault could cause a factory-fitted awning to detach at speed, according to the manufacturer.
Ford Australia has recalled 287 examples of its 2016-2021 Ford Ranger ute and Everest SUV, citing a potential fault with a factory-fitted awning.
The affected vehicles are stamped Model Years 2016-2021.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The mounting bolts that are used for the Rhino Rack Sunseeker awning may not meet manufacturing specifications and could break. If the bolts break this can lead to the awning becoming detached.
"Should the awning become detached, this could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or bystanders."
