Porsche has sought to marry the past and the present again this week, with the unveiling of its new 911 Targa at the Detroit Auto Show.
The new version’s styling is a nod to the original 911 Targa of 1965, but in a first for a Porsche Targa model, it also features an electronically-controlled opening roof.
In classic Targa style, a wide bar behind the driver and front-seat passenger sits in place of a B-pillar, while a wrap-around glass section acts as the rear windscreen and C-pillar.
