AUDI RSQ3 REVEALED
Audi has pulled the covers from its new RS Q3 performance SUV, marking the RS badge's first appearance on a production 'Q' SUV.
The German carmaker has also confirmed the RS Q3 will hit Australia in early 2014, arriving as the most affordable RS model to date.
Appearing as a concept early last year, the RS Q3 carries over into production form with very few tweaks - except for a slight dip in power.
In production form, the RS Q3's 2.5 litre five-cylinder turbo engine produces 228kW and 420Nm, compared to 250kW and 450Nm in concept trim.
The difference is unlikely to perturb the turboheads however, with the RS-powered SUV's 0-100km/h sprint time growing from 5.2 to 5.5 seconds - hardly a blowout.
That time also makes the RS Q3 the quickest compact SUV around, and with a 250km/h electronically-limited top speed, it might also be the overall fastest in the segment.
