Tesla has confirmed that Australian deliveries of its all-new and all-electric Model S sedan will begin in 2013, with more than 50 'reservations' already taken.
Australian pricing for the Model S has yet to be revealed, although Tesla has confirmed that its new sedan will sell for around US$57,000 in the North American market.
The American carmaker has also released a short video today of the Model S 'Alpha build' test cars getting some track time in. Taking on common software nomenclature, the Alpha test cars will be followed by final 'Beta' pre-production cars.
The first of the Model S cars to roll off the assembly line will be left-hand-drive models for the North American market, beginning in 2012.
The first 1000 will be dubbed the 'Model S Signature Series', gaining a 480km-range electric battery and a number of limited edition options and badging.
From North America, the global rollout of the Model S will head to Europe, with left-hand-drive models hitting that market in late 2012.
