2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class official images revealed
The first official images of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class have been leaked online, showing the all-new shape in full detail. They follow brochure images that were revealed yesterday.
Showcasing the latest Mercedes-Benz design language, the new 'convertible S-Class' flagship presents a handsome, clean-cut and masculine profile, with hints of sexiness towards the hips and rounded rump.
At the front, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is very similar in design to the latest Mercedes-Benz SLK. It features new, wider headlights, with a big flat bonnet blending down to the centre single-tier grille design.
Along the side there's the traditional side vents with aggressive horizontal fins, as well as a large panel indent which forms from the vent back to the rear quarter panel. At the back is where a distinct S-Class theme is shown.
The new model features a taillight design which takes inspiration from the S-Class, while the boot lid slopes down to form a relatively rounded rear end. Bolstered front and rear wheel arches also top off the imposing look.
The 2013 SL will be powered by a range of new turbocharged engines. It's expected to get Mercedes-Benz's 3.5-litre V6, and the new 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8. Full details will be unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show on January 9, before going on sale in Australia in the third quarter of 2012.
