2013-2018 Ram 2500 recalled due to emissions compliance fault

The fault could cause the vehicle to fail Australian Design Rules emissions compliance, according to the recall notice.


Ram Trucks Australia has recalled one example of its 2500/3500, citing a potential fault with the engine control software which could cause the vehicle to fail Australian Design Rules emissions compliance. 

The affected vehicle is stamped and was sold between 2013 and 2018.

The recall notice lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Due to a software issue, the engine control software requires updating for efficient engine emission performance.

"There is no safety hazard and the defect will not affect the performance of the vehicle.

"Vehicles may not be compliant with the ADR 80/03 - Emission Control for Heavy Vehicles."

Ram Trucks Australia has advised the owner of the affected vehicle to contact their nearest authorised dealership to have the vehicle’s software updated, free of charge.
