The Hyundai Kona small crossover is the first truly adventurous design from the brand since the Veloster. Under the body lies a pretty competent car that'll take sales away from the Mazda CX-3 and co. Deservedly so.

2019 Hyundai Kona Elite review

If you find regular hatchbacks a little passé, then boldly designed crossovers – really just high-riding coupes – like the hot-selling Hyundai Kona Elite await you.

2019 Hyundai Kona Electric long-term review: City driving

I live and work in the city. Most of my friends live in the city, and most of the places I go are in the city. Our Hyundai Kona Highlander Electric has spent a lot of time in the city.

2019 Hyundai Kona Go FWD review

Price leader, base model, entry level – whatever you choose to call the Hyundai Kona Go, it lacks for little in terms of attitude or equipment, in a down-to-earth way.

Hyundai Kona Electric long-term review: Infotainment

The bones of Hyundai's infotainment system are pretty well reported by now, but the Kona Electric Highlander wades into battle with a few unique touches to help owners make the most of its range.

2019 Hyundai Kona Electric long-term review: Welcome!

Say hello to our newest long-term test car, the Hyundai Kona Electric! As a $60,000 compact SUV, this is still one for the early adopters -- but with around 450 kilometres of driving range, those who do jump in early should at least be able to ignore the range anxiety.

REVIEW: 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric hits Australia

Consider the Kona Electric as the fledgling EV market's proverbial 'clubhouse leader' at the segment's more affordable end, even if that only equates to a few hundred buyers this year. Hyundai is overall to be commended for being at the leading edge, and should benefit from this position in the years ahead.

2018 Hyundai Kona 1.6 Highlander AWD v Toyota C-HR Koba AWD comparison

See the full article here. Despite making a fashionably late arrival to the small crossover market, the 2018 Hyundai Kona has certainly made a grand entrance on appearances alone. Funky? You bet. Even against the hot sellers and mover’n’shakers – CX-3, ASX, XV, HR-V – largely responsible for skyrocketing the popularity of form and fashion over pure family-friendly functionality, the Kona appears, literally, to lob into trendy leading edge of style...

Hyundai Kona Comparisons

2019 Hyundai Kona v Honda HR-V comparison

With a sprinkling of added freshness injected into ranges in the latter half of 2018, it’s high time we matched up two perennial favourites of the trendy small-crossover set: the Honda HR-V and Hyundai Kona. Be it the prolific wider choice on offer in segment or the variety offered within each marque’s particular range, the two variants we’ve lined up here haven’t had much of shake through the CarAdvice garages either...

2018 Hyundai Kona Active v Nissan Qashqai ST

People are drawn to small crossovers for various reasons. Some want extra height and practicality compared to a regular hatchback, while others are drawn to the distinctive design and point of difference. The 'funky' Hyundai Kona from Korea, and the practical UK-made Nissan Qashqai, may nominally be rivals, but they go about the business of being small SUVs quite differently...

Electric and hybrid cars to no longer get the silent treatment

Australian authorities are poised to introduce new regulations that would force electric and hybrid cars to emit a sound at low speeds to alert vision impaired and distracted pedestrians. During a meeting of all state and federal transport ministers in Adelaide earlier this month, it was proposed that “all electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and hybrid vehicles install an Acoustic Alerting System”, and that a regulation impact statement be ready in “early 2020”...
