Drive Season 4 screens on Channel 9 at 1pm each Sunday. The full episode will be available to video on 9Now after it airs.
This trip kicked off in Camden, south-west of Sydney's CBD. To experience and understand a little bit about G-forces, Trent's adventure began at Camden Airport where he was treated to an aerobatic flying experience.
If this isn't your flavour, then Curtis Aviation also offers joy flights with spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, Blue Mountains, Palm Beach and Warragamba Dam.
After catching his breath, Trent piloted the Kia EV6 GT north to the Blue Mountains. This Kia is the fastest and most powerful vehicle from the brand, boasting 430kW and a 0–100km/h sprint time of 3.5 seconds.
The roads around the back of the mountains have a bit of everything for everyone. If you want to enjoy a pleasant cruise, you can, and if you want to step it up a notch, then there are plenty of scintillating and challenging stretches – perfect for a performance car like this one.
The route that Trent took avoids highways and offers some of the most stunning scenery through the iconic Blue Mountains. From Richmond, this route takes you through Kurrajong and Bilpin, before reaching Clarence.
A must-see destination is the Zig Zag Railway, which represents an important aspect of rail transport in the state of NSW. Constructed as part of the main western line, it opened in 1869 and is an engineering marvel, snaking its way down the steep face of the Blue Mountains.
Finally, this drive finished off at beautiful Lake Lyell, just on the outskirts of Lithgow. The lake boasts some of the best camp spots in the state and is also utilised for fishing, waterskiing, four-wheel driving, swimming and canoeing.
This drive will take approximately two hours and is all up around 133km.
