When you've got a car like the Ram TRX, why bother with sensible highways. Trent takes the monstrous ute from Bathurst in central NSW, all the way to Moruya on the coast, regardless of what gets in his way - here's how to get there!
Drive Season 2 screens on Channel 9 at 1 pm each Sunday. The full episode will be available to video on 9Now after it airs.
Our rote this week starts in Bathurst, about 200km or a three-hour drive west of Sydney.
Bathurst is approximately 200km from Sydney, and our drive starts in town, skirting around Mount Panorama on Vale Road, which switches to Trunkey Road. Pass through Perthville, Arkell and Trunkey Creek, before turning onto Goulburn Road, and then Abercrombie Road.
If you love camping, there are some stunning options around the Abercrombie River, too.
Moving onto Junction Point Road, then Binda Road, we continued our run down to Crookwell, where we joined up with Goulburn Road and then Crookwell Road, all the way into Goulburn.
On day two, we took Braidwood Road out of Goulburn, a beautifully scenic drive that snakes its way southeast through Tirranaville and Tarago as it becomes Goulburn Road.
A left turn onto the Kings Highway took us through Manar and into the peaceful town of Braidwood.
There are off-road options out of Braidwood, but if roads are closed as they were during our visit, you stay on the Kings Highway and pass through Northangera and Monga before making your way into Bateman’s Bay.
Head for the coast out of Bateman’s Bay on Bavarde Avenue, before turning south onto Beach Road and then George Bass Drive all the way to our final stop, the stunning Malua Bay.
