Hyundai has confirmed to a group of Australian journalists that the company has commenced working on a 280kW hot hatch set to rival the likes of Ford's Focus RS, Audi's RS 3 and Meredes-AMG's A45 in terms of power and torque.
Hyundai head of vehicle test and high performance development, Albert Biermann told CarAdvice that he has already driven a road going prototype version of the brand's RN30 concept vehicle and he is very impressed.

Renault's all-electric city car, the Renault Zoe, has been relaunched at the Paris motor show with double its range, thanks to a newly developed 'ZE.40' battery.
The new unit has added 200km to the Zoe's range, meaning it now has a total range of 400km. But don't expect it to hit Australian roads any time soon.

The Audi RS3 sedan has been unveiled at the 2016 Paris motor show with a new, more powerful five-cylinder engine.
Under the bonnet, the the RS3 sedan features the company's latest 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine, which made its debut in the TT RS.
The new five-pot mill generates 294kW of power, as well as 480Nm of torque between 1700 and 5850rpm. Drive is delivered to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The new Lexus UX concept has bowed at the Paris motor show today, revealing a first look at the company's plans for a new compact SUV.
The Japanese luxury marque says it is aiming the UX concept at new, younger, "ever-connected urban customers", a group it hopes to win over for the first time. Fair enough, too, with the brand often seen as a favourite of older buyers.
The all-new 2017 Nissan Micra has been revealed at the Paris motor show, representing a complete makeover for the brand’s light hatch.
Headlining the fifth-generation Micra is the inclusion of active safety technologies; like autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane departure assist, along with new powertrains, upgraded infotainment, and obviously, a completely new look - inspired by the 2015 Nissan Sway concept.
