Car technology: driving on a flat run flat tyre

Read the article here. What are run flat tyres? Essentially an RFT is a self-supporting tyre with a very different construction to that of a conventional pneumatic tyre. The sidewall is made of thicker rubber and has been reinforced to make it stiffer. It's this section that will bear the weight once the air pressure is gone...

2018 BMW M140i v M240i comparison

With its combination of 250kW/500Nm turbocharged six-cylinder power, rear drive and choice of manual or automatic transmission shoehorned into a small five-door body shell, the BMW M140 LCI was one of 2017's most unique and highly anticipated offerings for the discerning petrolhead. Better still, BMW wiped five grand from this mid-life updated version of the range-topping small hatchback...

Audi A3 Cabriolet v BMW 2 Series Convertible : Comparison review

With the sunlight hours diminishing by the day, the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the BMW 2 Series Convertible may not be at the top of your automotive wish list. Ironically, however, as we’re busy digging out our trackies and Uggs in preparation for circa-20-degree days, our friends in parts of Europe are doing the same – though they’re stripping off snow jackets and boots (in place of our footy shorts and thongs) in anticipation of what they depressingly label ‘summer’...

2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe spied again

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has been spied again, this time strutting its stuff in Germany. Although this prototype is wearing a similar level of camouflage to the vehicles spied earlier this year, our spy agency got up close and personal this time around. These test cars still have some false body panels around the sides, but are wearing production-ready exhaust tips, headlights, and tail-lights for the first time...

BMW has extended a safety recall for diesel vehicles across various model lines over a potential fire risk – now affecting around 268,000 units in the UK and 1.6 million globally. 2016 BMW 2 28i M-sport Review

I recently bought myself a 330i and had the pleasure of taking home (overnight) a 220i for my wife a few months later - that's where the romance began, my wife fell in love with it so another few months later I decided to update her car and decided to splurge out on the 228i, WOW, what an amazing coupe...

The BMW “New Class”, most well known for the venerable 2002 Turbo, was something of a saving grace for a company that was struggling through a post-war financial crisis. It also created a dynamic precedent, one the German marque has tried valiantly to uphold. Either on-track or on-road, the 2002 created a cult following...

2014 BMW 2 Series M235i Review

I have only owned my BMW M235i for a month but I know enough to realise that this machine is amazing. But first I'll start with some of the more boring stuff.
