The 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 is expected to be announced in January, according to information posted in an American charity auction.

The Petersen Automotive Museum is giving one lucky person the chance to secure a build slot for a new Porsche GT model on the US website Bring A Trailer, stating the new car will be announced at the beginning of the new year.

The German sports car company's GT division produces arguably the most desirable Porsche models, such as the Cayman GT4, 911 GT2 RS, and the upcoming GT3.

An image of the covered model reveals few details – however, it's highly likely it is a generic picture used to advertise the auction, rather than an official teaser.

In August, the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 was filmed testing on track, while the GT3 Touring – a stripped back, less aggressive variant – was spied nearly a year ago.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Petersen Museum’s "annual educational programs, restoration efforts, and strategic initiatives", and can be found here.
