Toyota has released photos of the HiLux designs that didn't make it into production for the 2021 model year.

The biggest overhaul of the Toyota HiLux since this generation went on sale in 2015 was led by Toyota Australia's design and engineering team – and the changes are going global.

In a media conference outlining the 2021 Toyota HiLux range in detail today, the company revealed some of the designs that were considered but discarded during the facelift process over the past few years.

We screenshot some of the biggest changes that show the evolution of the design, which was intended to reflect some of the styling themes of the Toyota Tundra sold in the US.

Let us know in the comments below which of these designs you prefer. Or did Toyota get it right with the final showroom version?
