Last week video footage by Fox News captured a group of Chrysler employees drinking and smoking what appeared to be marijuana-rolled cigarettes on their lunch breaks. Chrysler has responded by giving instant dismissal notices.
Out of the 15 workers taking part in the extra 'recreational' lunch breaks, 13 have now been sacked by Chrysler and two others have been given one-month's no-pay suspension.
Chrysler has reacted very swiftly to the matter and recently said in a statement,
"It should be clear that Chrysler Group will not tolerate such behavior and will continue to evaluate its protocols to ensure that something like this does not happen again."
We have to remember Chrysler was recently bailed out from bankruptcy and given a second chance only with the help of the US government and tax payers, the statement added,
"It is unfortunate that the actions of a few people have called into question the reputation of more than 51,000 very proud, hard-working Chrysler Group employees, grateful that the US and Canadian taxpayers gave us a second chance. We take that responsibility very seriously and will work to restore the public's faith."
Check out the video for the full Fox News report. It's quite funny at the end.
