BMW Australia has confirmed a new 'Finale' package for the M140i hot hatch, scheduled to arrive in showrooms around March priced from $62,990 before on-road costs.
Celebrating the last iteration of the rear-drive hatchback before it makes the switch to front- and all-wheel drive in the next generation, the M140i Finale Edition gets special badging, extra specification and unique design bits over the 'standard' M140i for $3000 extra.
Headlining the additional features are 18-inch M light alloy wheels in Orbit Grey, wireless smartphone charging, the 'Storage Compartment' package, metallic paint, an electric glass sunroof, a high-gloss black front grille, darkened head- and tail-light lenses, along with a black chrome finish for the dual tailpipe outlets.
Buyers can also opt for two alternative alloy wheel styles, finished in either Jet Black with silver highlights or just Jet Black.
As before, the M140i Finale Edition is powered by a 250kW/500Nm 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six, paired to an eight-speed automatic sending drive to the rear wheels – a unique selling point in the segment.
BMW claims a brisk 0-100 sprint time of 4.6 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at 7.1L/100km.
Carryover equipment from the 'standard' variant includes M Sport brakes with blue-painted calipers, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assist, a harman/kardon premium sound system, adaptive M suspension, an 8.8-inch Navigation System Professional system with BMW ConnectedDrive, 'Dakota' leather upholstery, along with keyless access.
The M140i Finale Edition arrives in showrooms from March, with last production available from June.
UPDATE, 11/2/19: The original version of this article indicated a six-speed manual was available as a no-cost option. However, this is not the case, the Finale Edition is exclusively offered with the eight-speed auto.
