2018 Lotus Evora recalled
A pair of the British super sports cars could have faulty steering columns.
Lotus has issued a recall for two examples of its 2018 Evora over concerns a build issue could cause a steering fault.
The British sports car specialist reports 'select vehicles' could have a steering column cartridge screw that isn't to specification.
If the condition occurs, the screw could disengage from the cartridge thread, causing the "actions of the steering column" to become unpredictable.
Lotus says the fault could result in serious injury or even death to the vehicle's occupants.
The two affected units were sold in Queensland and Victoria, according to Lotus – the VINs are SCCLMDCC6JHC10895 and SCCLMDVUXKHC10163. The vehicles were sold between 17 April 2018 and 2 October 2018.
Owners will be contacted directly, with recall repairs to be carried out free of charge.
