Hyundai Motor Europe has revealed the i30 Fastback N Line overnight, bringing N-inspired looks and equipment to its four-door coupe, in line with the similar package it already offers on the related hatchback.
Offering the look and feel of the all-out i30 Fastback N without the all-out performance, the N Line trim level is available with the regular version's engine range, which includes a 1.0-litre three-pot turbo petrol, along with a 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol.
Key upgrades include a body kit, mesh grille insert, black bezels for the headlights, 'N Line' badging, N-branded sports seats and a sport steering wheel. Metal pedals and an N gear knob are also part of the package.
European buyers who opt for the 140PS (103kW) 1.4-litre petrol engine also get refinements to the suspension, engine response and exhaust sound compared to standard versions, along with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 performance rubber around the 18-inch alloys and larger brakes.
Meanwhile, the 120PS (88kW) 1.0-litre petrol motor swaps out the 18-inch rims for smaller 17-inch units, though the rest of the package is identical.
"Our second Hyundai model available with the new trim, the i30 Fastback N Line, enables even more customers to experience the N feeling," said Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, vice president for marketing and product at Hyundai Motor Europe.
"The i30 Fastback N Line combines the elegance of our five-door coupe and a distinguished selection of dynamic N Line features. Our N Line trim is made for customers who want to spice up their i30."
European sales are scheduled to commence "at the end of 2018".
Given we don't get the regular version of the i30 Fastback locally due to its exclusively European production schedule, don't expect to see the N Line in Australian dealerships any time soon. However, it's confirmed the hi-po i30 Fastback N will be headed to our shores by March next year.
While we likely won't see the Fastback N Line, we could see a similar package offered on the i30 hatch in the near future as part of a model-year upgrade, to bridge the gap between the core range and the N flagship.
