Volvo teases ‘360c’ with soundbyte

10 second video posted to Facebook hinting at ‘the sound of your future ride’

Volvo has previewed its forthcoming ‘360c’ initiative with a short video posted to its global Facebook page.

The video consists of a single synthesised piano note, followed by the text ‘360c’.

Volvo has captioned the video; “This could be the sound of your future ride. What do you think it's saying? #360c”

Judging by both the caption and Volvo’s interaction with commenters on the video, the teaser likely has something to do with its recently-announced ‘M’ mobility service.

One commenter did guess the video was hinting at a new electric car. However, the reply from Volvo seems to suggest something different.

"Volvo Cars electric cars are exciting, but we're looking even further ahead in the future. What do you think will be the next big thing?”

This could be hinting at the launch of the app-based, on-demand mobility serviced floated by Volvo in the past. 'M' is designed to offer "dependable, on-demand access to cars and services through an intuitive app" to users, according to the company.

"The services currently available mainly offer alternatives to a taxi or public transit,” said Bodil Eriksson, CEO of Volvo Car mobility.

“We’re focused on the way people use the cars they own, which sets us apart. We aim to provide a real alternative to that experience. It should enable us to live life on our terms, getting things done and maximising precious time. We see the opportunity to offer a premium experience."

This may well be the first of several teasers related to the ‘360c’ program.
