New program applies to all new vehicles delivered from May 1, 2018
Ford's local arm has introduced a new five year, unlimited kilometre warranty across its entire range – including commercial vehicles.
The five-year warranty covers all vehicles delivered from May 1, 2018, and bolsters the company's after sales program which already includes map updates for Sync 2 and Sync 3 satellite navigation systems, free loan cars during services, auto club membership, and roadside assistance.
Prior to the announcement, Ford's vehicles were covered by a three year, 100,000km program.
"This is another step in our transformation plan. We’re transforming our dealerships, our products, our customer service and ownership experience, and today we’re introducing a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty to offer even more value for our customers," said Graeme Whickman, president and CEO of Ford Australia.
"Our Ranger and Transit owners rely on their vehicles and we want them to know Ford’s got them covered for five years and unlimited kilometres. Ranger [now] has the class leading standard warranty within the pick-up and cab chassis segment."
"This is not a special offer, it’s what customers have been asking for and it’s what we are delivering today," he added, no doubt taking a swing at the likes of Holden and Honda, which have recently offered seven-year promotional warranties – though the latter now offers five-year factory cover.
Ford's five-year warranty has "no buyer type restrictions" according to the company's press release, with all genuine accessories and licensed accessories fitted prior to vehicle delivery also covered by warranty.
