Photos have surfaced online that show a facelifted 2019 Mitsubishi Triton refueling in South Australia, where the company's local operation  is headquartered.

The above photo, published in March by Malaysian website PaulTan.org, show the popular ute wearing the 'Dynamic Shield' face that now features on most Mitsubishi passenger models.

The current Triton was revealed in 2014 without the bold 'shield' design – immediately leading punters and the press to speculate on a makeover in the not-too-distant future. In 2015, we published the below rendering.

As expected, the new look should bring the ute's styling in-line with its off-roading wagon companion, the Pajero Sport – with a hint of Eclipse Cross and Expander in the mix.

That theme will continue at the front and rear quarters, with new squared-off wheel guards replacing the round arches and flares of the current model.
