Nissan has released a teaser video of a new concept car bound for the Detroit motor show next week.

While the 40-second clip doesn't give much away, there are glimpses of a bold front grille and slim headlights.

The imagery is accompanied by the quotes "picture a world in which strength is used to protect", "purity attracts attention", and "tradition is a bridge to the future" - hinting that the design of this new vehicle may not be as wild as concepts past.

While the company is yet to confirm what form this new concept will take, industry journal Automotive News reports that it will be a crossover concept.

Considering Nissan revealed the IMx concept just last October at the Tokyo motor show, we're not sure whether the vehicle in Detroit will be an evolution of the IMx, or a completely new car altogether.

For now, we'll have to wait and see.
