Scheduled to be unveiled on August 21 - according to Carscoops - the new 5 Series flagship is briefly visible during the 10-second video, which also hints at a special 'First Edition' model that will likely be available at launch.
Thanks to the added traction of the company's xDrive all-wheel drive system, the M5 will be capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds.
Speaking of all-wheel drive, BMW has also confirmed that the M5's 'M xDrive' system will be rear-biased, and feature three modes - one of which that makes the vehicle rear-wheel drive only.
Additionally, there's a rear Active M Differential that actively splits torque between the two rear wheels to enhance stability and grip in the bends.
Stay tuned for our coverage of the M5's reveal on August 21, ahead of its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
