Based on the newly facelifted standard Juke – also premiering at the Swiss show – the updated Nissan Juke Nismo RS gains redesigned ‘boomerang'-style upper lights, revised tail-lights and new door mirrors with integrated LED indicators.
Employing the same 160kW/280Nm turbocharged 1.6-litre direct-injection petrol engine used in the first Juke Nismo RS unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles auto show, the refreshed crossover is again offered in two trims: a front-wheel drive tied to a six-speed manual and an all-wheel drive partnered with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with eight 'gear' manual mode.
As well as coming with a mechanical limited-slip front differential as standard, Nissan claims luggage capacity of 2WD versions has also been increased by 40 per cent thanks to a subtle reshaping of the luggage area.
Along with revised spring and damper settings aimed at enhancing ride and handling, the hardcore Nissan Juke Nismo RS features a strengthened body structure, 320mm brake discs with red brake callipers and a large diameter muffler.
Lower front and rear bumpers, wider guards and side skirts, a dark chrome grille, a tailgate spoiler, red door mirror caps, red pinstripes and ‘RS’ badging, all ensure Nismo's sporting pedigree flows into the quirky subcompact SUV.
LED daytime running lights and 18-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior package.
Inside, optional Recaro sports bucket seats join a “performance-oriented” steering wheel, pedals, gauges, gear knob and door trims.
