2012 Porsche 911 Turbo Spy Photos

The all-mighty Porsche 911 Turbo will soon be updated with a new and improved model. Given it's a 911, it will carry its unmistakable looks for yet another iteration.

We can tell it's a Turbo by the those big air-inlets in the rear fenders. Additionally the wide fenders and the rear bumper with the integrated exhaust pipes and air outlets on the sides distinguish this from your everyday Porsche 911.

With the 2011 Nissan GT-R now claiming a 0-100km/h time of just 3.0 seconds, the new 911 Turbo has a lot to answer. No doubt Porsche purists will stick by the brand regardless but an increase in competition has surely made Porsche work even harder to cement the new 911 Turbo's position as the king of on-road cars.

There is no official information regarding just how much power the men from Stuttgart have extracted from the new 911 T, rumours suggest it will have around 550-600 bhp (~400kW-440kW) powering all four wheels.

Another interesting thing to note from these photos is the lack of a big rear wing. Perhaps Porsche has made it possible to fit the engine with its turbos and intercoolers without needing a big wing at the back. Maybe the “whaletail” wing will be optional and the retractable wing standard.

We expect to see the new "normal” Porsche 911 versions at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September which may suggest the 911 Turbo will make its official debut at Geneva in March 2012.
