2016 Volvo XC90 D5 Momentum Review

Read the article here. The outgoing Volvo XC90 was the biggest selling model for the Swedish brand in most crucial markets and this all-new model is the first to be wholly released under the ownership of new Chinese owner Geely. Add to that the fact that the architecture on which the XC90 is based will drive future model development across the range, and it's fair to say the XC90 is a pretty important vehicle for Volvo...

Audi Q7 3.0TDI v Volvo XC90 D5 Inscription : Comparison review

Two giant releases on the large-SUV radar this year, the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90, seem intent on reshaping the seven-seater landscape with aligned vision and purpose. Surprising, perhaps, given how differently the Swedish and German brands have been traditionally perceived, but also how different this Big Boy pair are by all appearances viewed from 50 paces...

2018 Volvo XC40 spied

The new Volvo XC40 has been spied undergoing extreme cold weather testing in the Arctic region of Sweden. Despite the camouflage and false body panels, we can see that the XC40 will be very closely related to 2016's 40.1 Concept, with short front and rear overhangs, hockey stick-style rear lights, and a side window line that turns dramatically upwards as it approaches the C-pillar...

Henrik Green, Volvo's research and development boss, has confirmed to Autocar that the new XC40 crossover will make its debut this year. Volvo 'ute' spied in XC90 clothing

An odd-looking Volvo XC90 prototype has been spied in Europe, sporting a very long wheelbase and scaffolding over the tailgate. The red prototype features a rear axle that is noticeably further back than the standard XC90, with photographers estimating the wheelbase on this vehicle has been stretched by nearly 250mm – for reference, the XC90 has a 2984mm wheelbase...

2000 Volvo S40 2.0 SE Review

It’s mid-January, a Monday morning, 04:30am. I’m on my way to work and taking the back route – a series of sweeping corners, the odd hairpin and the odd wallaby on what can only be described as a goat track. The engine is warm, as is the air for this time of morning. Fourth gear. I stab the throttle and shift back to third. Repeat to find second...

2012 Volvo V50 T5 Lifestyle review

The Volvo V50 has been great, the dimensions of the vehicle have suited our needs perfectly for holiday and surf trips up and down the coast and price was spot on. The XC90 we had before this was a lovely car but the 3.2-litre petrol engine was very heavy on fuel. We also had a XC70, which I believe was the best model made by Volvo at the time and we have had a Subaru Forester and a Toyota RAV4 in the past...

2012 Volvo Xc70 D5 Review

After 118,000km's I am making way for a different kind of car for the family now, but figure it's worth a write up on the car finally. In order of the scores this site gets you to list; Performance and Economy I drove around 30,000kms per year, with about 90% of that at between 80 - 110km/h. It averaged around 7.2L/km (6.9L/km freeway and 7...

2013 Volvo S60 T5 Luxury Review

Reliable, safe and good low down torque when pushed. Spacious and fuel economy on highway is 5.9 litres per 100 The interior quality is second to none no squeaks or rattles and servicing costs are very reasonable now having completed 35,000km of trouble free motoring. The noticeable thing is slight wind noise from the side mirrors at speed...
