Read the article here. The new 2017 Volvo V90 wagon has been unveiled ahead of its official debut at the Geneva motor show in a few weeks time. 2016 Volvo XC90 D5 Momentum Review

Read the article here. The outgoing Volvo XC90 was the biggest selling model for the Swedish brand in most crucial markets and this all-new model is the first to be wholly released under the ownership of new Chinese owner Geely. Add to that the fact that the architecture on which the XC90 is based will drive future model development across the range, and it's fair to say the XC90 is a pretty important vehicle for Volvo...

Audi Q7 3.0TDI v Volvo XC90 D5 Inscription : Comparison review

Two giant releases on the large-SUV radar this year, the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90, seem intent on reshaping the seven-seater landscape with aligned vision and purpose. Surprising, perhaps, given how differently the Swedish and German brands have been traditionally perceived, but also how different this Big Boy pair are by all appearances viewed from 50 paces...

Luxury SUV Comparison: Audi Q5 v BMW X3 v Lexus NX v Volvo XC60

Considering luxury SUVs are big business, the Lexus NX can’t be accused of being rushed to market. It’s more than a decade since Toyota’s luxury division introduced its last new SUV, the GX that is a spruced-up Prado and never sold in Australia. You then have to go back into the 1990s for the (LandCruiser-based) LX and (Highlander-based) RX...

Luxury Sedan Comparison Final Round : Mercedes-Benz C-Class v BMW 3 Series v Volvo S60

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class was Australia’s favourite luxury car in 2013. Perhaps a more impressive fact, however, is that Stuttgart’s mid-sized model outsold every mainstream medium car except the Camry and Mazda 6. It’s fair, then, to call this a significant volume car – as is its decades-old arch enemy, the BMW 3 Series, which matched that last feat...

Volvo's 'zero fatalities from 2020' mission a vision, not a target

Volvo Cars has cleared up any confusion regarding its bold and well-publicised Vision 2020 stretch target that nobody should be killed in one its cars from next decade. Jan Ivarsson, Volvo Cars senior technical advisor for safety, clarified to Australian media in Gothenburg this week that the radical statement embodied by the company from the top down was a vision, but not a target per se...

2017 Volvo S90 pricing and specifications: $79,900 entry point for Swedish sedan flagship

The all-new Volvo S90 sedan range is on track to hit Australian showrooms during the final quarter of this year priced from $79,900 plus on-road costs. This high-tech successor to the S80, which uses a version of the scalable (flexible) architecture that also underpins the new XC90 SUV, is the Swedish company’s rival to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and Jaguar XF...

2016 Volvo Xc90 D5 2.0 Inscription Review

Two months in and it has been an amazing car so far. Unbelievably quiet and performs very well around town and on the highway. Plenty of grip and we have just come back from 400km in the country, much of gravel roads which it stuck to like glue. The systems are easy to work and access though you need to remember to keep your eyes on the road and not get to wrapped up in them...

2015 Volvo S60 Polestar Review

Having owned a Mazda MPS 6 for 10 years, I reluctantly decided it was time for an upgrade. I say reluctantly because the MPS 6 was a brilliant car, a real drivers car with superb performance and quality. This is my first Volvo and so far i'm very impressed. The finish and build quality is excellent, as is the long list of standard features and inclusions...

2014 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country Review

my 2014 Volvo V40 Cross Country had done faultless and comfortable 25,000km. its comfort factor is high. its performance factor is high. It is reasonably thirsty in all city driving but luckily i very little of that. But on the highway it get 7.2l/100km on the F1 driving in Cruise control at the speed limits...

2015 Volvo Xc90 T6 2.0 Inscription Review

The step up from the old XC90 is certainly appreciated. This car has brought the model up into the X5 & Q7 stables. It gives classy appearance and displays quality interior with so much information as to the vehicle operation on the big screen. It has been a real culture change to accept that you don't need the big V8 or V6 with the reassuring growl to get up and go...
