2017 Volkswagen Golf: owner review
- Quietnss
- Ride
- Economy
- Slick gear change
- Having to use 95 octane fuel
- Following distance in adaptive cruise control too close for my liking.
- No automatic dipping headlights.
- No ability to read road signs.
During my quest for a vd mall car to replace my VZ Commodore sedan, and believing a sedan would provide the best ride and road noise suppression my search began.
I found sedans on offer either failed the the gear test, or had limited or no towing ability.
I then moved to looking at hatches, which in the higher grade versions generally had all the gear including the towing ability I sought.
Despising European cars, I relented while eating humble pie, and paid the 7.5 VW Golf 110TSI Highine with DSG some attention. It fitted my number one and two criteria: ie quietness and ride.
Id like to have automatic dipping head lights, road sign reading ability, a greater following distance with the adaptive cruise control feature, and the ability to use 91 octane fuel.
However ride quality and quietness one the day, while It continues to put a smile on my face, whenever I take it for a drive.
