2006 Chrysler 300C V6 Touring – Quick drive review
Having given Ford and Holden headaches with the 300C sedan, Chrysler has further encroached on the local heavyweights' territory with the Touring.
Combine concept and price and this is the closest rival to the Falcon and Commodore wagons, offering a choice of big-capacity V6 and V8 engines driving the rear wheels.
At the entry point of the range is the 3.5-litre DOHC 24-valve V6. Producing 183 kW and 340 Nm, it mates to a five-speed automatic transmission.
With both rows of seats folded down, the 300C Touring boasts a substantial 1602 litres of cargo space, but the roofline in the rear is quite low, eating slightly into versatility. The look is bluff, oh-so American.
Priced at $56,990, the V6 Touring is very well equipped. Standard equipment includes airbags, ABS with brake assist, stability and traction control, dual climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, powered and heated front seats, leather upholstery, park distance control, xenon HID headlights and a cargo cover.
