Toyota GR86, GR Corolla and GR Supra performance cars updated in Australia

The manual GR86 will now come with important safety technologies, announced by Toyota along with a new Performance Pack for the GTS variant – as well as new colours for the wider GR range.

The 2024 Toyota GR86 will now come with additional safety and performance features, while the GR Corolla and Supra benefit from new exterior colours.

Toyota has announced GR86 models optioned with a manual transmission will now come with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure alert, and automatic high beams – while automatic vehicles also get traffic departure alert.

The safety updates bring the GR86 in line with new Australian laws coming into effect in March 2025, which require AEB to come as standard on all passenger cars – and matching an identical announcement for the Subaru BRZ back in June 2023, though the updated BRZ is yet to go on sale in Australia.

Additionally, buyers can now option a new Performance Pack on the range-topping GR86 GTS, which the company says improves handling thanks to ZF Sachs sports shock absorbers.

Braking is also upgraded thanks to Brembo four-piston front calipers and two-piston rear calipers – all painted in red.

Meanwhile, the GR Corolla can now be ordered in Eclectic Blue with blue contrast stitching inside the car, and Plasma Orange replaces Silverstone Yellow in the available exterior colours for the GR Supra.

The changes apply to all 2024 Model Year variants (MY2024), available to order now from Toyota.
