2018-2022 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 diesels recalled due to emissions compliance fault

Turbo-diesel GT versions of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs have been recalled in Australia due to a diesel particulate filter fault.

Peugeot Australia has recalled 526 examples of diesel 'GT' versions of its 2018-2022 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs, owing to a faulty diesel particulate filter (DPF) which could cause the vehicles to fall foul of emissions regulations

Two separate recall notices have been issued for the fault, with one covering 194 examples built between 2018-2019 and the second relating to 332 examples built between 2018-2022.

The recall notices, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, say: "The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) may crack due to overheating. If this occurs the DPF may not operate as intended resulting in an increase of tailpipe emissions.

"There is no safety hazard and if this occurs, the defect will not affect the performance of the vehicle.

"If the defect occurs the vehicles would not be compliant with the Australian Design Rule ADR79 – Emission Control for Light Vehicles."
