Following Mitsubishi’s admission that two of its Kei cars in Japan weren’t tested for fuel consumption in accordance with Japanese government rules, comes a further admission of wrongdoing from the company.
While at this stage it appears that only Japanese-market cars are likely to be affected, the company revealed that its fuel consumption figures may not have been tested accurately reaching as far back as 1991.
Following the initial announcement that fuel consumption figures for the Mitsubishi eK Wagon and eK Space were falsified - as well as the Nissan Dayz and Dayz Roox, which Mitsubishi builds for Nissan, the company has appointed an independent committee to investigate the issue.
