Mercedes-Benz has started lifting the lid on its upcoming C-Class Cabriolet.
The German car maker has released a sketch of its latest open-top on social media ahead of its official debut at the Geneva motor show next month.
It has yet to provide any official details of the car, but it is clear the four-seatet will feature a fabric folding roof similar to the Audi A5 but unlike the BMW 4-Series that are its two most natural rivals.
Being based on the latest-generation C-Class Coupe, which is due to arrive in Australian showrooms mid year, the Cabriolet is expected to mirror the line-up with a choice of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines in the mainstream models and a twin-turbo V6 in the AMG C43. It is unknown whether the German high-performance division will offer a full-blown C63 with the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 due to the more relaxed character of the car.
The C-Class Cabriolet is anticipated to go on-sale in Australia before the end of the year, part of a renewed range of open-air models from Mercedes-Benz that includes the facelifted SL and re-badged SLC roadsters.
