Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG to be final G-Class: report
Mercedes-Benz will reportedly create a special edition G-Class called the Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG. According to Autoblog.nl, The robust wagon will feature a twin-turbo V12 engine, overshadowing the current top-spec G 55 AMG variant.
Although no official word has been announced, the ballistic vehicle would be a kind of celebratory model to finish up the current G-Class production. With the G 55 AMG wagon already deemed one of the coolest cars around, thanks to its 5.5-litre supercharged V8 producing 373kW of power, a G 65 version would be even more epic.
Using the same engine as seen in the flagship S 65 AMG, the 6.o-litre twin-turbo V12 will provide a full-bodied 450kW of off-roading brute. The engine will also give the G 65 wagon one of the highest torque figures in its class; hitting the 1000Nm mark like the Audi Q7 V12 TDI.
Reports suggest the model will be limited to just 200 units with prices starting at around 220,000 euro ($294,000). Could this be the new coolest car in the world?
