McLaren 570GT MSO concept revealed

British supercar maker debuts new concept at Pebble Beach.

McLaren's bespoke unit, MSO or McLaren Special Operation, has applied its handy-work to the brand's 570GT to create the McLaren 570GT by MSO Concept, which will be on display at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The McLaren 570GT is positioned as the brand's most road-friendly vehicle thanks in part to softer suspension and reworked steering and brakes. However, it still packs a powerful punch with its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 419kW and 600Nm which is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with power delivered to the rear wheels.

MSO has modified the 570GT's exhaust system to give it a richer sound and the use of titanium instead of stainless steel which has made it 30 per cent lighter.

Its white paintwork are offset by gloss black finished wheels, side skirts, front and rear door inserts and interior touches.

The MSO Concept also offers full length gloss black carbon fibre sills.

Another exterior enhancement is the use of an electrochromic UV-protected glass roof that can be used in five different level of tint.

Moving inside the 570GT MSO offers a 12-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system, widespread use of gloss black carbon fibre and gloss lacquered door inserts and tunnel sides.

The McLaren 570GT by MSO Concept follows on from the bespoke departments Carbon Series edition 675LT Spider which added 40 per cent more carbon fibre panels to the stock 675LT Spider and was revealed earlier this year.
